Why Have Adults Stopped Asking Questions?

Sadly, our health care system is broken.

I have experienced this myself many years ago. This was what honestly pushed my shift in life towards holistic health. Zero side effects and ease of support.

After my husband fell, we followed the recommended health care options. They sent someone in once a week to check his injury (thank god he has an attentive wife – not everyone has daily support like this), but that was it. When the incision wasn’t healing with the iodine provided, my husband was ready to allow me to try our holistic options and that one spot that wouldn’t close, closed. In a very short time.

The past almost 7 months, yesterday, has been a journey. One that has been a challenge for each of us because its literally out of our control. One cannot force a broken, lets be real, shattered limb to heal quicker. It just doesn’t happen. What has happened is our family has reached a new level of appreciation for life, gratitude, unconditional love – true unconditional love and support, understanding of ourselves and our bodies with regards to physical and emotional healing. Aligning with truth.

This has also opened our eyes even bigger to the massive focus of “health care” with Pharmaceuticals.

Unfortunately, my husband was having a lot of pain and discomfort, the swelling came back again, but only really near his ankle, not the lower leg where it happened before. So last Monday he went to the hospital and requested x-rays. Myself knowing the importance of connecting with his surgeon again, I called and left a message, they were closed until Wed. Husband was told everything is ok, given a prescription for anti-inflammatories and told to get compression socks and came home…

When he told me what he was told, that he requested the x-ray (good man!), was given the pill prescription etc… my response to him was WHY? He looked at me confused. Ok so they prescribed anti-inflammatories, told you to put your foot up more and wear a compression sock… BUT WHY is it swollen!?

Why have adults stopped asking questions?

Im not a doctor, Ive never claimed to be one. However, I have learned the utmost importance of KNOWING your body, KNOWING how it feels and when it feels off. My husband, bless his heart, has been getting so much more in touch with his own body this way and for that I am SO proud of him. As frustrating as this situation is for us at this moment.

A week after having x-ray’s, spoke with the surgeon’s office last Wednesday, set up a follow up appointment with them for the following Wednesday “just in case”, my husband got a phone call from the doctors office on Monday, a week later, advising that there is a hardware fracture. I reached out to a family member who is a nurse, to ask her “normal protocol”, should it take a WEEK to get a call about an issue that not only my husband expressed he was in pain and was having a hard time walking, when I called and left the message at the clinic I emphasized how much pain he was in AND that he thought he felt something move the week prior.

Needless to say, yesterday was almost a complete write off for both of us, emotionally. 7 months into this healing journey and it feels like going backwards. On one hand its good to have answers, Im proud of my husband for knowing something that wrong and pushing for answers. As frustrating and unknown as this is.

I debated about sharing this, as it is more personal, HOWEVER… this is what fires me up, what pushes me to encourage everyone towards Empowered Health. Every single one of us is different, our bodies, our health, everything about us. So when any medical professional tells you something that doesn’t feel right… ITS OK TO QUESTION IT! Its your right!

I learned this years ago, after being told I was in the “normal range” for years… If you do not feel right, you know your body best, there IS something off. I choose to say something off, vs something wrong. Because it literally could simply be shifting your sleep or eating habits. Life is a trial and error journey.

Our health care system has almost entirely been shut down multiple times during this past 15 months, only allowing certain things to be done etc. A friend of ours lost her partner and their daughters lost their dad. I understand there is a flu like virus making people sick. However, if you have read any previous posts regarding health care, there is a lot of people sadly dying from other things than covid… Anyone with an illness or injury matters. Especially when a person is in physical pain and discomfort.

Truthfully, I knew SOMETHING was wrong because when we used oils on his leg and back, the swelling went down. I love the inflammation protocol I use because it truly does work! Nature knows. But, even after surgery, the swelling will go down, when there is inflammation in the body of any kind there IS a reason. The trick is finding that reason!

Everyone’s health matters. Its time to fix our broken health care system! I could just sit down shut up and accept what is… however nothing will change if everyone just sits back and says ok, “they” said this so we must do this… Our own individual health care has never been the responsibility of our government, until now?! Why? Well for my health, for my family’s health, it will always 100% be OUR responsibility and no one else’s, especially the government!
