Let’s chat about body image for a moment… I caught myself this evening during my workout looking in the mirror shaming myself for the weight around my tummy. Feeling – for a moment – that this wasn’t working.
Why is it so easy to sink back, to quickly find faults within ourself and criticize.
The ONLY person that has ANY input on your body is YOU!
After years of struggling with my health, it’s ok to have a wee slip. I was also reminding myself of the chocolate I ate on Sunday… ok be truthful and last night. Truthfully dairy, is not my friend. However I am aware of this. I know I cannot drink milk or eat ice cream. When I eat dairy, I now know this affects me like an allergy, I feel like I am getting sick, yet I am NOT! My Triease or Lemon/Lavender/Peppermint totally help!
I am new to the daily movement and exercise journey, but I have found along my wellness journey that the more in tune I am with my body, being conscious of the dairy effects, the better choices I make and therefore feel.
It’s easy as a parent to simply say “because I said so…” but I have chosen to show them. Actions speak louder than words and also can have consequences. I have been enjoying parenting so much better since this shift years ago! I learned alot about this from @doctorshefali .
We are living in a very questionable time that has had a definite affect on mental health. I am grateful for our home and space. Although things are weird, I feel this is our true anchor. Our happy place, which is made happier because we are all happier. Which also results from feeling better too 🥰
In saying that, yes overall so much more happiness, laughter and fun. Also more leaning in to more individual space, movies, music, favourite past times.
If I could tell the me last April anything, it would be to just lean in to you. Lean in, love on yourself and your loved ones, but put you first. Be truly comfortable in your space, love your space. If you don’t love you or your space… who is the 1 person who can change that?!
✌
The same person, for me, who looked in the mirror at after my workout and remembered sometimes the process can seem or look messy… keep going and rest when you need to! 🙌 I AM proud of me!
