Just a Tuesday Evening at Home!

Yummy Turmeric Tea, Diffuser Blend, Bath Bomb, Essential Oils, Food and My Family. My kind of weekday night!

I am always curious about natural ways to support a healthy metabolism. My body needs a little bit of loving to keep the metabolism going so I am grateful my oils can support me with this! A couple drops in my tea or even just a couple drops with hot water, warms my heart and soul.

We had a great evening at home. Tonight was one of those nights that I knew I needed to be more present for the kids but also at a distance giving them space to do their chores. I knew we were going to have a simple meal – frozen lasagna, made locally at our butcher with local ingredients! The BEST (and only) frozen meals I will buy! Threw that in the oven, got the kids going on what they needed to, watched my show and then… after checking on dinner and realizing I had 21 minutes… I went and had a hot bath! My kids even checked in on me before getting in and the boy got me one of my handmade bath bombs that my daughter gave me for Christmas.

We had a great meal. Part of that meal was parenting. See we had a problem this morning that I needed feedback on. All of us were slow this morning. It was just “one of those mornings”. The kids were late for the bus, I got out the door without my supplements and felt slightly bad at how the kids left for school. I can admit I yelled this morning and if I can be honest for a moment, we’ve shifted from yelling when under pressure – to being aware of time and mindful of the other person (people). Its been a huge shift and I love it. Because as soon as I did yell this morning (I tried to “excuse” myself for being over tired…) I instantly felt gross. This isn’t ME. This isn’t how we raise our kids. We are much stronger and conscious. This evening even before we sat down, we set the stage. Both parents being on the same page is mountain mover! We discussed the problem of running late, admitted it wasn’t just a concern for the kids, adults have this issue as well and we are working to be more aware. Ideally I want to be up at least an hour to an hour and a half before the family. Currently I am about 30 minutes. I get my daily greatness journal done and my daily lesson with A Course in Miracles. We talked about the importance of using words when frustrated and not reacting in the moment, a great reminder for kids and adults! Working in customer service can be interesting at times 😉 The best part… when the kids got off the bus after school, they were both smiling and laughing! Regardless of the rushed start to the day – I made sure to pour love into them as they leaved – I love you every morning and night – and it over flowed into their day.

The next best part, we had the best family discussion. Real life, calm, happy, productive, open to learning. I am so thankful for Aletha from New Growth Family Centre for her assistance in supportive problem solving – not just for kids but for us too. Yup its very much common sense – but even bigger than that is rising above everything and everyone and following your own heart and soul. Especially the little hearts and souls that you created and live in your home ❤

What helped me today – because normally knowing the kids left for school that way, I would stress about them and worry how their day would be. But today, instead of living in fear, I lived in love. I listened to a few of Rebecca Eanes interviews on You Tube while getting work done and it was awesome to hear her gems of knowledge of being a more positive and present parent. I am stoked to be on her launch team for her newest book – The Gift of a Happy Mother! I am stoked to get reading that this weekend!!! Until then… I am settling into my own new bedtime routine so its almost time for bed, to journal, read, meditate then sleep! Im over 2/3 the way through Rachel Hollis’ newest book I was so lucky to get an advance readers copy as a part of her book launch team! Girl, Stop Apologizing — OMG So good!!! Why!? Because every single chapter, you can relate to YOUR OWN life! And not in a, well Rachel did this or that or did it this way so I need to… No! In a — wow interesting… I could apply this approach to _______ in my life! Or Holy sh*t that is SO totally true… haha Im normal! 😉 Its being released March 5th!!! I highly recommend it!

If you are curious about the oils below are the benefits of Turmeric, Petitgrain and Serenity, check out their goodness especially if you need assistance with sleep! I so so so love how these oils have blessed our lives!!!

The Turmeric Oil is supportive for supporting healthy glucose and lipid metabolism. Its an oil you have to get used to the taste of, however once you do, well I now crave it in my green tea in the morning!!!

Petitgrain is an interesting oil. To me it smells like a fresh, citrus, smokey blend. In my opinion its a very powerful oil for our family. We began using this oil at night as its known as “the man’s lavender”, its very similar to all the positive relaxing benefits of lavender! Lavender can be tricky to use at bedtime in our home. We have experienced when we use Lavender at night our brains tend to be more active vs restful so we use Lavender during the day and more grounding oils in the evening!

Ive used it in our diffusers for bedtime and have an awesome roller blend we used on the cruise. One that works amazing is Cedarwood, On Guard and Petitgrain – 2 drops each. Start it in the diffuser at least and hour before bedtime. SO good!!! Our kids have slept so much better since using this blend! Tonight in our main diffuser is Petitgrain and Serenity! I really like it 🙂

Serenity is one we have loved on for a while now. Its been a bedtime staple. However I found there were times we needed a bit more. I especially love it more that they have added more wood oils to the blend. Its less floral and more grounding, which I love!
