Get out of your head!

Can I be honest with you?

When our kitchen is clean, I thrive, we thrive as a family. Things flow, fall into place and this mama starts her day calm and prepared.

Being a mom, being parents, truly has been our best learning and living experience ever. Our children have taught us more than we ever learned before they joined our family. Not just about being parents, about being ourselves and the importance of holding strong to that.

Being on this personal journey is about myself but it’s also about my family. I really and truly love a laid back calm home. Somedays with real life, work, school, sports, various other commitments life can begin feeling daunting. Feeling like everything is a chore… even just a 5 minute one!

So this week we’ve grown into a new routine and although we are fresh into it… I am LOVING our days and evenings together! Making changes can be hard, but when it feels good and light in your heart and body it’s the right thing!

Our kids, much like us, are sensitive souls. Growing up and as an early teen I was fascinated with energy work. I now understand we are sensitive to energy. It’s a real thing. We can sense negative energy or that something is wrong. We may not know what but we can feel something is off. We are empaths. This for our family means downtime, organized spaces, healthy eating and getting sleep.

Starting our day with oils, music and healthy eating has been so incredible. Everyone working together with an abundance of time, letting go of that “rushed” and constricted feeling.

A friend told me about how she ordered a google home mini and loved it! I can admit I’ve been anti-home devices because… well I’m not one to jump on fads and I want to ensure I get the best bang for my buck! Well… let me tell you this little device has been pretty freaking awesome!

Our kids, much like us, think on the go and sometimes when they think of something they can quickly forget if they get distracted. Being hands on kids and these devices being voice activated is amazing! Google has actually helped us get even more into our new groove.

Playing music, telling us the weather, “hey google what are some healthy breakfast options?” We had oatmeal on the stove this morning! Asking when hockey games are, broadcasting messages, setting timers and alarms, managing shopping lists… so much more!

It is true though… a big part of this is getting out of my head. How often do we have so many things going through our mind between the kids, home, work, spouse, pets, Christmas, paying bill’s, friendships and personal time, health and fitness. Heck I had the device a week before I said anything or even attempted to set up. I love technology but I get up in my head and overthink everything.

I also noticed the other day, as I’ve been growing my hair out, I began picturing an earlier self. I find intriguing because this earlier me was in a much simpler time, I was a beautiful naive newly teen who loved to read, take art lessons, loved my long hair and followed my heart. My how life has grown since then. Including myself. A time I truly didn’t think about what others thought of me or what I enjoyed doing, I just followed my heart.

That is what I want wholeheartedly in our life and for our kids. A laid back simple, fulfilling, organized life filled with love and fun. Where they can thrive! It’s what we deserve too. We’ve had the “busy” life and we’ve much more enjoyed making down time and our space a priority.

To get out of our head, the true “busy-ness” of the day whatever we may be doing. Many of our evenings are not just our incredible essential oils… many of our nightly bedtime routines now also include crystal’s!

I’ve introduced my family to Reiki energy and crystal’s alongside using our oils every day. I used to shy away from what I find so very fascinating… key word – used to! Hearing my kiddos ask for energy work with crystal’s and oils makes me feel even more empowered as their mama to be the strong woman that I am!

Get out of your head and just be YOU! 🦋

Slow back, enjoy life – especially the little things. Do things that are out of the norm but what you have been telling yourself you want to do. Heck I used to let baking get me overwhelmed…and then tonight without even really thinking much about it, just getting into rhythm in a clean organized kitchen and baked home made brownies… yes 100% home made – sugarless even and oh man did they taste amazing!!! Black bean brownies! Added 3 drops of doTERRA Peppermint and YUM! Not only did I bake the brownies, they are ready for school tomorrow and the dishes all clean. That my friends is major progress. Because let’s be honest, some days just life in general can be stressful without all the extras!

So much more life can happen when we get out of our heads. There is lots of time for whatever needs to get done, so be sure to step back from the fast pace and into your own rhythm. You’re worth it! 💖

If you are passionate about something – teach your kids and spouse. You never know what may spark inside of them similar to you!
