Coming Into Balance

I am the mom of an amazingly kind, intelligent and fun ADHD boy. I love him dearly for not only being my son but also taking me through a new life journey.

I am learning to embrace ME and every little bit about me.

Ive been putting much more value for having downtime at home to recharge, plan, prepare and be together. That’s me and if that’s what, I need its ok!

Im so much more happier. Our family is so much more happier. Everything we have (we are still in a purge and organize mode) has a place and every place has what is to be there. We are working towards this and as we do my heart becomes so much more inline and balanced.

Being a PCOS and ADHD Mom it requires a lot of heart, planning, patience and understanding for all of us. Its been a journey we’ve been on for many years – over 13! You know what though… knowledge is POWER!

The more time I spend learning and listening to others experiences, coping mechanisms, health choices, the more I come into balance.

Friday we said good-bye to a wonderful man in our family. A man who we’ve known as long as Jaz and I have known each other. It was sad, yet also a blessing. It truly does shake up the emotions inside. I am thankful the rest of the weekend was just a go with the flow.

Such a beautiful weekend with family and some friends. Most of all a weekend at home. What I am learning is for our family – we need our downtime to recharge and prepare for the week ahead. Most weekends I aim for at least half a day to a full day at home to relax and be productive. This is great. Everyone may not need this, but for us we definitely do and that’s great.

Perhaps its more balanced boundaries. Knowing this is how we recharge, prepare and expand into the next week – so this is what we are doing.

I will admit, some weeks fly by, I can be honest they are not the most organized or clean. Sometimes dishes sit for a couple-few days, laundry is piling up in their hampers and there is dog hair everywhere!!! Thats ok. I have to remind myself – this is REAL life and its ok. Go with the flow.

This weekend I had the opportunity to finish off organizing our kitchen. While hubby and I were away in Texas my mom came over and helped us with some more organizing, this weekend I did some more organizing and am SO excited for the next stages we are at – built in pantry, closet pantry chalk door, trim and a few other finishing touches. We are getting so close and I know it feels really good because its what we envisioned, everything has a place and every place has the right thing. I am just thrilled we were able to bring this kitchen dream to life! Where we are at now – we are totally organized! Yay. Trim is being painted and hubby and his dad are making trim install plans!

We are lucky, my husband and I. We have the carpentry brilliance with my father in law Tony and my hubs Jaz! We have the talent and expansive knowledge of plumbing and hvac from my dad Jamie and my hubs Jaz! I am truly blessed and fortunate to have them in our life. For all of them to have a significant hand in us transforming our house into our home.

One other thing I have learned while growing as a mom its also that weekends, which are less structured, is that we need structure of some kind, even if its just one thing. This weekend it was skating Saturday and Monday and visiting with friends over a late lunch on Sunday. Also providing time to get more organized, prepare for the week with groceries, tidy up and keep the kitchen tidy 😀 Big smiles for that one!

We have also been pulling our mornings together a bit better by doing one simple thing. Making our bed.
Its a total visual thing. I love things looking streamlined and tidy. I like things being simple. Simple to use and multipurpose – less clutter, space.
It really feels mind opening and clearing.
Having time in the kitchen did that for me this weekend.
Having the rec room picked up and the kids beds made.

I am so grateful.

Grateful that we embrace us, we allow ourselves to have downtime to make it a priority for each of us, to be the planners that we (ok mostly I and Cars) need to be, having things organized with a place for everything and making time to do what we enjoy not just “what we have to do”. Its beneficial for all of us. For this mama to meditate and enjoy some quiet ME time! Its truly phenomenal!

Beautiful timing being as its Family Day weekend ❤
