10 Tips For Boosting Your Energy!

Even though Spring is here and the days are getting longer, there are days when we can feel like we are loosing our motivation! One of the ways I personally LOVE to uplift is with our diffuser, citrus and mint essential oils!  Why citrus… ?

Main Chemical components: Limonene, ß pinenes, γ-terpimene
When we examine the scientific makeup of Lemon essential oil, it is clear that Lemon can’t help but provide an energizing, uplifting feeling when diffused or applied topically—it just comes naturally! Lemon oil is comprised of chemicals called monoterpenes, which are generally known to have uplifting characteristics. Along with other citrus oils, Lemon is composed of Limonene and beta-Pinene, two monoterpenes that are known for their uplifting properties.

Lemon oil shares chemical components like Limonene and beta-Pinene with other doTERRA essential oils like Bergamot, Wild Orange, Grapefruit, Lime, and Douglas Fir. That is why all of these oils, including Lemon oil, are often used to promote a positive mood and create an uplifting environment.  (Source – Lemon Oil Spotlight)
Keep reading to find out some simple ways to beat that middle-of-the-day fog and regain lost energy.

1. Take Quality Supplements

Because the average diet is lacking in nutrients, it is important to take a daily supplement such as the doTERRA Daily Nutrient Pack® or Mito2Max®.

2. Workout Midday

Most people are aware that working out helps you alleviate stress and anxiety. However, instead of working out earlier or later in the day, try working out mid-afternoon. Studies suggest that working out at this time can increase your productivity—making the time away from the office worth it.

3. Stretch and Breathe

Deep breathing from the diaphragm can help get your blood flowing and stretching helps reenergize your muscles and your mind to fight off any anxiety that may be creeping in.

4. Invigorate with Essential Oils

Diffusing any citrus essential oil is shown to help uplift and improve your mood, while Frankincense, Peppermint, and Rosemary are beneficial in invigorating the senses.

5. Go Outside

Simply breathing in fresh air for 20 minutes can change both your energy levels and mood for the better. It also means you get that crucial amount of sun exposure to keep your vitamin D levels up.

6. Eat Smaller, More Frequent Meals

Food is most importantly our body’s fuel, and when you start to get hungry your mood and level of activity can quickly decline. To keep off hunger pangs, eat healthier, smaller meals more often.

7. Get an Aromatouch®

The invigorating effects of the AromaTouch Technique essential oil application can help you re-center and reduce stress. Make sure to stay hydrated before and after.

8. Stay Hydrated

It’s important to keep water in your system, even when the weather is cooling down and you feel like you don’t need as much. Stay away from sugary drinks that can actually dehydrate you more.

9. Get a Good Night’s Sleep

Your body does a lot during sleep, including healing and rejuvenating. Be sure to get plenty of rest—for adults seven to nine hours is the recommended amount.

10. Take a Power Nap

Taking a long nap might seem like the answer, but it really can set you back for the rest of the day and keep you from sleeping during the night. Instead, take a quick midday power nap of around 10–20 minutes.

One of my all time favourite diffuser blends for the office is Wild Orange, Lime Peppermint and Rosemary! 2 drops each is incredibly uplifting and inspiring to my brain!

Do you love adding a beautiful scent to your home? I do too! We diffuse daily! I personally have chosen to diffuse essential oils vs candles or plug ins or store bought “air freshener” spray because of the pure quality and therapeutic benefits the essential oils offer! Do your research – what you breathe in and what goes on your skin goes into your body! Did you read my blog about “Does Living Clean Really Matter“?
