With Spring comes SPRING CLEANING!!!

Did you know many cleaners contain chemicals which are not only toxic to us, our pets but also the environment?

Clean your home safely with a few simple and all natural ingredients which are extremely effective!

The multi purpose cleaner we use for literally EVERYTHING at home is very simple – Water, Vinegar and Essential Oils.

My FAV for Spring and Summer is Citrus oils – Wild Orange, Lemon, Grapefruit, Lime… either of those smells fabulous and is excellent at cleaning any type of surface.

The biggest plus (for me) is that this all natural cleaner is 100% safe around all of us – the adults, kids, dog, cat and bird! Its even safe around food 🙂

I also recently ordered some Norwex clothes to ramp up our cleaning processes as their cloths inhibit mold growth – you know those smelly cloths or towels – yup that! Im excited to add them into our cleaning routine along with my favourite essential oils recipes! Check out some of them below!!!

Natural Recipes

Multi-Purpose Cleaner – Fill glass or stainless steel bottle 3/4 of the way with water, add in 10-12 drops of Essential Oils of your choice and then top off with Vinegar.

Mould & Mildew Preventer – 2 cups water, 30 drops Melaleuca (tea tree oil) and 10 drops Peppermint oil.

Fruit and Veggie Wash – Fill the sink with water, add in a couple tablespoons of vinegar and 3-5 drops of Lemon oil. If you only have a few pieces to wash just use your multi-purpose cleaner – yes its that safe!

Fabric Softener – Vinegar with Essential Oils of your choice added directly to the washing machine.

Fabric Freshener – Water with 12-15 drops of Lavender and the Cleansing Blend spray on your furniture or mattresses to freshen up!

Foam Soap – Fill the soap dispenser 3/4 of the way with water, add in 1 tbsp of liquid castile soap and then add in 8-10 drops essential oil of your choice.

Carpet Freshener – 2 cups of baking soda with 10-15 drops of essential oil of your choice – citrus oils are great or the Cleansing Blend. Combine all ingredients, shake well and then sprinkle all over the carpet. Let sit for 15-30 minutes before vacuuming up.

Cleaning Paste – 1 cup baking soda, 1/2 cup water, 1 tbsp liquid castile soap and 10 drops Lemon Essential Oil.

Deodorant – 1/4 cup of baking soda, 1/4 cup arrowroot powder, 3 tbsp coconut oil add in 12-15 drops essential oil of your choice. Store in a glass jar with a lid and apply as needed. Ive played with the ratios and add in more arrowroot powder than baking soda now.

Bath Salts – 3 cups of epsom salts, 1 cup of baking soda (optional) add in essential oils of your choice approximately 8-10 drops. Mix well and add 1 cup to running bath water.

Hand Sanitizer – add 10-15 drops essential oil to a 10ml glass roller bottle, fill with fractionated coocnut oil, shake well, roll on hands as required.

It is recommended that you test out your cleaner first before spraying down the complete area.
